Fueling Community, One Cup at a Time

Renegade Coffee Company was born from a simple conversation between founder Kris and her kids. A lifelong entrepreneur, Kris was ready for her next adventure when one of her children suggested a need for a better coffee shop in their neighborhood. With her love of coffee and a passion for creating meaningful community spaces, the idea hit home—and Renegade Coffee was set in motion.

After researching the perfect spot, the first Renegade Coffee location opened in 2018 in the Park Scottsdale neighborhood. Surrounded by local businesses, schools, and incredible people, the area offered just what Kris was looking for—including a rare drive-thru location.

When it came time to name the shop, inspiration struck from an unexpected source: music. The Thomas Rhett song Renegades captured the spirit of what Kris envisioned—something fun, a little edgy (but not too edgy), and rooted in individuality and authenticity. Thus, Renegade Coffee Company was born.

From day one, our mission has been clear:

Serve exceptional coffee and made-to-order food, while being a proud and active member of the neighborhood.

We believe coffee shops are more than a place to grab a drink—they’re where community happens. Whether it’s hosting local meetings, donating to school fundraisers, or giving kids a place to run a car wash, Renegade is always ready to give back.

Growing with Our Neighbors

In late 2021, Renegade Coffee opened its second location in Mesa, at Alma School and University. We were warmly welcomed and are proud to be part of another vibrant and diverse community.

The Renegade family grew again in August 2024, when we opened our third store in the 19 North Community in Phoenix, near 19th Avenue and Northern. Located in the same plaza as Bookmans, it’s the perfect place to grab a coffee, enjoy a meal, and explore other amazing local businesses.
